3 NOPD police officers were arrested in May. I can't help but wonder then how many families of New Orleans police officers are living in a state of crisis, even imminent danger.
I commend the local law enforcement for doing what it is their job to do in these three cases.

[Excerpts] Another New Orleans police officer has been arrested in a domestic violence incident -- the third man wearing the star-and-crescent badge to be accused of that offense in May. The arrests resulted from back-to-back incidents in Orleans and St. Bernard parishes and a battery earlier in the month in Terrebonne Parish. On Saturday night, the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office arrested Douglas Butler, a 13-year veteran of the New Orleans Police Department, in the simple domestic battery of his girlfriend, disturbing the peace and public intoxication, according to a news release. Butler, a detective in the First District, was suspended without pay after public integrity investigators began a preliminary investigation, Superintendent Ronal Serpas said. Butler was booked with domestic abuse battery after spitting in the face of a 45-year-old woman who had called deputies to her home in the 900 block of Perrin Drive in Arabi, complaining that Butler was banging on doors, yelling and cursing, St. Bernard Sheriff Jack Stephens said in a news release Tuesday. According to the release, the woman told deputies that she and Butler had lived together for most of the past two years and had been at a bar earlier Saturday where they had an argument. At about 10:50 p.m., Butler showed up at her home, banging on the back door and demanding to be let in. When she refused, he began banging on the front door, according to the woman's complaint, and she threatened to call the Sheriff's Office. Butler told her he didn't care and spit in her face, the sheriff said in the release... the sheriff's office initial report describes Butler as "irate, acting belligerently and cursing officers" before being taken into custody...
