[Excerpts] Internal affairs investigations of three Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies for alleged misconduct in their personal relationships resulted in one termination, one resignation and one suspension... Former Deputy Morris McDaniel, a training deputy hired in 2005, resigned Oct. 9 while under investigation for a domestic violence arrest. In May, Boynton Beach police arrested McDaniel on a charge of putting his hands around his wife's throat and threatening her. McDaniel "became angry because he believed that he had asked me to cook breakfast and he believed I refused," McDaniel's wife told investigators. The incident happened at the community pool where McDaniel's wife was with their children. His wife told investigators McDaniel told her he "could kill me right in front of the kids." He put his hands around her neck but didn't apply much pressure, she told deputies. McDaniel was arrested on a simple battery charge. Prosecutors later declined to pursue the case, citing insufficient evidence. He was found to be in violation of the Sheriff's Office's rules and regulations: commission of a misdemeanor; respect toward superiors and compliance with direct orders from internal affairs investigators...
