[EXCERPTS] A KIRKSVILLE POLICE OFFICER IS CURRENTLY ON RESTRICTED DUTY AS THE MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL COMPLETES AN INVESTIGATION INTO AN ALLEGED DOMESTIC DISPUTE... THE INCIDENT OCCURRED EARLY IN THE MORNING JAN. 7, AND THE OFFICER INVOLVED WAS IMMEDIATELY PLACED ON PAID ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE. [KIRKSVILLE POLICE CHIEF JIM] HUGHES REQUESTED THE HIGHWAY PATROL INVESTIGATE THE INCIDENT TO AVOID CONFLICT OF INTEREST ISSUES, AND AFTER MEETING TWICE WITH DETECTIVES, HE DECIDEDMONDAY TO PLACE THE OFFICER ON RESTRICTED BASIS.
