McKinley County Sheriff's Deputy Elrino Henio was allegedly attacked by his wife at their Thoreau-area home around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, The Gallup Herald reported. According to the transcript of a 911 call, Henio said his wife struck him in the back of the head with a baseball bat after accusing him of hitting their daughter, The Herald said. Henio, who is a sniper with the sheriff's office SWAT team, also alleged that his wife locked him out of their house where his weapons were kept, the paper reported. "Deputy Henio's wife was taken into custody by the Navajo Nation Police, who are handling the investigation," Sheriff Frank Gonzales told The Herald. The Navajo Nation Police Crownpoint Division, which is handling the investigation, hadn't returned phone calls for comment on whether Henio's wife had been charged, the paper reported. [LINK]
