WAHKIAKUM COUNTY DEPUTY ACCUSED OF ASSAULT

An off-duty Wahkiakum County sheriff’s deputy was arrested Sunday morning in Longview on allegations of domestic assault. Longview police said Joshua Dan Grasseth, 31, Cathlamet, admitted pulling his wife by the arm when he found her in their vehicle with another man around 4:26 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of 17th Avenue. Grasseth and the other man then fought and both sustained injuries, police said. Police issued Grasseth a citation for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), a misdemeanor. He made his first court appearance Monday and was found eligible for a court-appointed attorney, despite having a combined monthly household income of $4,900. The Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Office has placed Grasseth on paid administrative leave while his case is adjudicated in Cowlitz County... [Full article here]
