DEPUTY BACK ON JOB AFTER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ARREST

[Excerpts] A Pueblo County sheriff's deputy has returned to work after she was arrested last week on a warrant for domestic violence. April Rose Vigil was arrested April 3, the day before her birthday, in connection to the alleged assault of her ex-boyfriend on March 14. Vigil, a deputy in the Pueblo County Detention Center, was arrested after finishing her shift, said Charlene Graham, head of the department's law enforcement bureau on Thursday... "She's back to work pending resolution of the criminal case," Graham said. At about 7:37 a.m., March 14, Vigil went to the girlfriend's house of her former boyfriend, located in the 1100 block of Belmont Avenue, according to an affidavit. Vigil began banging on the front door and demanding to be let in. The ex-boyfriend confronted Vigil, who reportedly punched him in the face several times. The affidavit said Vigil broke a $200 glass table on the patio and left. The victim said Vigil was in her sheriff's uniform, and probably came to the house after finishing her shift at the jail...mVigil and the victim dated for eight years and have two children...
