[Excerpts] A Bethel police officer was arrested Tuesday on misdemeanor domestic violence charges. Other officers charged Joseph Esposito, 43, of Deepwood Drive, with second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct in connection with an alleged incident at 8:19 p.m. involving his wife... Esposito was released on a written promise to appear in court and was arraigned Wednesday before Judge Sheila Ozalis, who issued a protective order that prevents Esposito from having any contact with his spouse, except for telephone conversations about the couple's two minor children. An inventory of property seized says police took Esposito's Glock 23 .40-caliber handgun and a fully loaded 10-round magazine for the weapon.
