The sons of Debbie, and the son of Deputy Creek, are brokenhearted. Deputy Creek's son Andre weeps not only for himself but for Debbie's boys. Debbie's sons, Dustin & John, wipe their tears enough to tell us what a loving woman their mother has been.

[Excerpts] It will be nearly a week before Randall Creek is returned to Kentucky to face charges in the death of his former girlfriend. Creek, 41, of 348 Pirates Cove in Bowling Green, admitted in a letter to the Daily News, law enforcement and others that he shot Debbie Rediess, 46. She was shot Sunday morning in the driveway of her home at 460 Hays Road North near Smiths Grove. Creek, a Simpson County Sheriff’s deputy who has since been fired, had also previously worked as a deputy jailer in Warren and Simpson counties... Creek is charged with murder in connection with Rediess’ death. His bond was set at $1 million... Creek had a solid background and had been around law enforcement for years, Starks said. He was always working with children, he said, and the whole incident seemed completely out of character. “But you can never tell what’s going on in someone’s head,” Starks said. Creek was on the run for nearly two days after the shooting. He was taken into custody by deputies from the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office and the Evansdale Police Department in Iowa on the murder warrant at 12:11 a.m. Tuesday... Creek sent three e-mails, the first about three hours before Rediess’ death... More charges could be filed against Creek, Holder said. Any additional charges will be decided by Cohron and the detective handling the case. [Full article here]

[Excerpts] Families speak out after a Simpson County sheriff's deputy [Randall Creek] shoots and kills his ex-girlfriend in her driveway early October 5th... Creek is now on the run as police continue a state-wide manhunt. Daniel Kemp spoke with the families of both Rediess and Creek... "She was in bed getting ready to get up for church when he showed up. That's when everything happened," said John Rediess, the son of Debbie Rediess... Nobody ever met her that didn't like her. She had more heart than most people ever would," John Rediess assured. "She loved everybody. She would do anything for anybody. That's what she lived for--her family," added Dustin Rediess, John's brother. Now, not only are Rediess' two sons in shock, but Randall Creek's son is having to deal with it too. "He told me what he did and pretty much just said goodbye and that he loved me," said Andre Creek, the son of Randall Creek... "You wake up in the morning to your dad saying, 'Bye,' for the last time, somebody who loved you so much," Andre Creek said. While he's hurting, Andre Creek says it's not near the pain being felt by the Rediess family. "People keep telling me they're praying for me. It's so much harder on them than it is me." And as both families try to figure out how to move on, Debbie Rediess' sons just want their mother remembered for what she was. "My mom she was a great woman. It's a great loss to anybody. It's a great loss to us," John Rediess said... [Full article here]

A trial date has been set for Randall Creek, the former Simpson County Sheriff's Deputy, who was indicted last November for murder, wanton endangerment, and tampering with physical evidence.
Creek's murder trial is set for September 22nd in Warren Circuit Court.
The charges stem from the shooting death of Debbie Rediess, of Smith's Grove, last October 5th.
Kentucky State Police say Creek killed Rediess at her home early that morning after a domestic dispute.
Creek is currently lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail on a one-million dollar cash bond.
