A St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office captain who allegedly threatened his wife with a gun, then after being released on bond was accused of running her off the road with his vehicle, has been fired by the Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Greg Champagne said Wednesday.
Troy Self, 49, an assistant warden at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center, was arrested on Sept. 16 at his Luling home after he allegedly pointed a weapon at his wife and threatened to kill her. He was released on $50,000 bond, but two days later, allegedly made harassing phone calls to his wife and tried to force her to speak with him by running her vehicle off the road with his vehicle.
Champagne said Self, who has been employed by the department since 1985, was re-arrested and was being held without bond in the Jefferson Parish jail.
