DUNBAR, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Dunbar Police officer accused of domestic violence is in the clear. Battery charges have been dismissed against Corporal George Rader. Back in July, charges were filed against Rader after his wife said her husband hurt her during an argument. He was cleared during a court hearing Tuesday, but Mayor Roger Wolfe says Rader will remain on leave until the city completes its internal investigation.

EXCERPT FROM THE CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST POLICE OFFICER GEORGE RADAR:

...UPON ARRIVAL THE UNDERSIGNED OFFICER SPOKE WITH THE ON CALL DOCTOR WHO ADVISED THAT THE VICTIM AMY RADER DISCLOSED TO HIM THAT HER INJURIES WERE FROM A DOMESTIC THAT OCCURRED LAST WEEK. THE DOCTOR FURTHER ADVISED THAT SHE WAS COMPLAINING OF HEAD ACHES AND PAIN IN HER UPPER CHEST AND LEFT ARM. THE DOCTOR ADVISED THAT SHE HAD SEVERAL BRUISES ON HER UPPER CHEST AND LEFT ARM. THE UNDERSIGNED OFFICER SPOKE WITH TWO REGISTERED NURSES WHO ADVISED THE SAME AS THE DOCTOR. THE UNDERSIGNED OFFICER THEN SPOKE WITH THE VICTIM WHO ADVISED THAT SHE AND HER HUSBAND GOT INTO A VERBAL ARGUMENT OVER SHOWING FAVORITISM TO THE CHILDREN. SHE FURTHER ADVISED THAT THE ARGUMENT THEN BECAME PHYSICAL AND THAT HER HUSBAND SLAPPED HER IN THE HEAD APPROXIMATELY TWENTY TIMES AND USED HIS FINGER TO PUSH HER IN THE UPPER CHEST. UPON EXAMINATION OF THE PHOTOS TAKEN BY THE REGISTERED NURSE THE UNDERSIGNED OFFICER SAW SEVERAL BRUISES ON THE VICTIM'S UPPER CHEST AND LEFT ARM WHICH LOOKED TO BE CONSISTENT WITH A FINGER BEING PUSHED INTO SOMEBODY...*
