J'TOWN OFFICER TO REMAIN ON UNPAID LEAVE
The Courier-Journal
October 17, 2008
Jeffersontown Police Officer Torray Walker will be on unpaid administrative leave until at least December following a meeting of the city's Civil Service Commission last night. Walker's attorney, Mark Miller, asked the commission for a continuance until then so new information can be developed in the case, which stemmed from an alleged domestic dispute between Walker and his wife... Walker was charged with assault in the domestic case, and police Chief Rick Sanders also charged him with violating the department's operating procedures, specifically the obedience of laws and conduct that is unbecoming an officer. The commission will decide whether Walker will be disciplined. He has no prior disciplinary action against him and more than 20 commendations in his personnel file. [Article here]
