[Excerpt] Authorities say a Palm Beach Sheriff's Office corrections deputy has been charged with assaulting his pregnant girlfriend. The sheriff's office reported Wednesday that 47-year-old Konstandinos Patzanakidis had been placed on paid administrative leave. Jupiter police say Patzanakidis and his girlfriend, who is already the mother of one of his children, were arguing Saturday night when Patzanakidis pulled off her glasses and grabbed the back of her neck. She told police that Patzanakidis pushed her into a counter and took the phone away from her when she tried to call 911... [Full article here]

The woman was taken to Jupiter Medical Center but did not suffer any serious injuries. Patzanakidis was arrested and then released on his own recognizance later Saturday, according to jail records... 911 CALLS FROM PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND ALLEGEDLY BATTERED BY DEPUTY BOYFRIEND

[Excerpts] ...Dispatcher: "911 emergency"
Victim: "Um- I just got slammed on the counter."
Dispatcher: "Who slammed you?"Victim: "Um, my significant other, or my ex, or boyfriend, whatever."
Dispatcher: "Do you need medical attention?"
Victim: "yeah".
...Dispatcher: "Are you bleeding?"
Victim: "A little yeah."
Dispatcher: "Did he slam you head on the counter?"
Victim: "Yeah."
During that same call, the victim told police that Patzanakidis snatched the phone from her hand and told her he loved her and apologized. The sheriff's deputy then begged the victim not to call police. But the call had already been made. The victim also told police that she was approximately 8 weeks pregnant with Patzanakidis's child a that he knew that she was pregnant...
