[Excerpts] An area law-enforcement officer was arrested Tuesday following a reported domestic dispute between two off-duty officers. Valdosta police officers were dispatched to Woodstone Apartments regarding a dispute reportedly involving an off-duty, female Valdosta Police Department officer and a male Lanier County Sheriff's Office deputy, said Valdosta Police Department Cmdr. Brian Childress... The ex-boyfriend had left the scene before authorities arrived. The ex-boyfriend is identified as Travis Kiser, who worked as an officer for the Valdosta Police Department until resigning three weeks ago. He is currently a deputy with the Lanier County Sheriff's Office... He was then arrested and charged with criminal trespass under the Georgia Family Violence Act... Kiser bonded out of jail later the same day... Lanier County Sheriff Nick Norton released a statement saying, "Following policy and procedure, Officer Kiser has been suspended without pay until further investigations prove his innocence or guilt"...
