[Excerpts] Asotin Police Chief Lee Reed resigned Thursday afternoon, said Mayor James Miller. "He did not state any reasons to us for his resignation," Miller said... "We will be appointing a replacement to serve in a temporary capacity, but that interim replacement has not been identified at this time," Miller said... Reed has been the police chief in Asotin for four years. He was recently under investigation by the Washington State Patrol in reference to a foster child, but no charges were filed in the case...
