[Excerpt] A police officer gravely wounded his wife and committed suicide after that in Russia's Samara region, the press service of the regional investigating committee told Tass on Monday. The accident took place on May 1 at an individually owned plot of land. The police officer made several shots during a quarrel with his wife. She was hospitalised in a grave condition. A police sergeant opened fire on his wife and two-year old son during a divorce argument... When relatives tried to stop the man he shot and killed himself... The policeman arrived at the country house where the whole family had gathered for the weekend and asked to speak to his wife in private. They entered the country house together with their 2-year-old son and minutes later relatives heard gun shots from inside. They rushed in and tried to wrestle the man down but before they could do it he shot himself in the head and died. The policeman's wife has been admitted to a local hospital with three gunshot wounds...
