ROANOKE POLICE CHIEF PLACED ON LEAVE

The police chief of Roanoke is on paid administrative leave after being arrested Thursday night on a domestic violence charge. Chief Mike Brockway was taken into custody and spent some time in the Woodford County jail before he was released. Woodford County State's Attorney Mike Stroh said no charges were being filed against Brockway. However, the Roanoke Village Board placed Brockway on administrative leave until trustees can meet next week. During this Memorial Day and Roanoke Festival weekend, Village President Bob Huschen said police protection was being provided by the Woodford County Sheriff's office.
