OTTAWA COUNTY - A part-time sheriff's deputy was fired earlier this month after state police began investigating a domestic violence complaint involving his former girlfriend. Ottawa County Sheriff Gary Rosema today said the road patrol deputy, who started February 2, was a "probationary" employee. Rosema did not release his name or age... He would not disclose any other details of the domestic violence complaint. Troopers with the state police in Grand Haven were investigating the July 19 incident and planned to forward a report to Ottawa County Prosecutor Ron Frantz.
