Monroe Police Chief Quentin Holmes said an internal affairs investigation concerning Lt. David Auger's arrest on domestic abuse charges will be complete within 60 days. Auger, who along with his wife, Kim Auger, was arrested on a domestic abuse battery charge following a reported altercation at the couple's home Saturday, was placed on administrative leave with pay pending results of the department's investigation. Holmes said he met with Auger on Monday to place him on administrative leave, which the chief said is customary procedure... Holmes said Monroe's investigation will run concurrently, "but our action won't be based solely on the criminal investigation... I'm going to wait until I get all of the facts," he said. [Excerpts] ...[Monroe Police Lt. David] Auger, 50, and his wife Kim Auger, 35, both of Leisure Drive in eastern Ouachita Parish, were arrested... Monroe Police Chief Quentin Holmes said David Auger is currently on administrative leave, with pay... The deputy on scene indicated that neither party suffered any injuries or markings from the incident. David and Kim Auger were taken to Ouachita Correctional Center for booking. Each was released on an $850 bond. Ouachita Correctional Center records show Kim Auger was arrested in July 2010 on a simple domestic abuse battery charge. [Full article here]
