Kentucky State Police say in December 2008, Mount Washington Police Officer Steve Cox broke into the home of his then-girlfriend, also a Mount Washington police officer. The indictment says he assaulted her, and threatened to hurt her if she told anyone... State police say the 2008 assault came to light as they were investigating the assault on Cox's wife... On February 11, 2011, Cox's current wife said he assaulted her in their home, put on his body armor, pushed furniture against the door and told her to call police. When she refused, court papers say Cox put a gun to her head... Cox is now charged with burglary, assault and trafficking steroids. The new charges stem from an incident involving his ex-girlfriend who was also a police officer with Mount Washington.
