Chief William Hart of the Londonderry Police Department seems to have a history of hiding evidence during his checkered career as a prosecutor and police official, more recently it involves the arrest last January of one of his officers; Jason M. Archambault for domestic violence.

NONPUBLIC SESSION: Officer Jason Archambault, Londonderry Police Department
Officer Archambault appeared to show cause why the Council should not suspend or revoke his
certification pursuant to Pol 402.02 (a) (12). Officer Archambault stated that it was his wish for
this matter to be heard in nonpublic session.

RESULTS OF HEARING:

MOTION: That the Council take no action at this time on the certification of Jason Archambault, and at the end of one year (i.e., May 1, 2011), if there has been no further action taken and no criminal charges have been brought forward, this matter will be closed. Chief Colarusso seconded the motion. Vice Chairman Wrenn clarified that Officer Archambault will retain his certification. The vote of the Council was 7-0 in support of the motion.

In other words, nothing happened to Jason Archambault for assaulting his wife. Archambault is allowed to carry on in the community , carry a gun and act as a law enforcement official without impunity. Where is the justice in this?

It is time that corrupt officials are forced to stand accountable for their actions. STOP THE COVER UPS WILLIAM HART.

[Excerpts] City officials, friends and family members shuffled into Mobberly Baptist Church on Thursday afternoon to honor Longview police officer Jamie “Ellyn” Goodan... [Ellyn Goodan’s day shift supervisor, Sgt. Richard] Spruiell described Ellyn Goodan as a woman who loved her family, a person who was easy to get along with and an officer who excelled at her job. “Of course everyone is unique in their own way, but officer Goodan was very good at knowing everything about her beat, and people involved in activities in her area,” Spruiell said. Ellyn Goodan’s beat was near her home in the 2100 block of Tryon Road — Beat 20. Spruiell said he talked to her the day before she was killed when she was in the office taking care of work from her beat. A small army of uniformed officers attended the funeral... Goodan began her career in 1995 as a Gregg County jailer... She received 29 commendations for her service to the community and the department throughout her career... Report sheds light on struggle that led to police officer's death

[Excerpts] ...Longview police on Friday released a portion of the offense report Officer Lisa Chatterton filed after Harry Goodan summoned authorities to the couple’s home to report his wife’s death. More than 90 percent of Chatterton’s narrative was blacked out by police, who cite their ongoing investigation as an exception to the Texas Open Records Law. What remains uncovered confirms much of previous police statements, including that Goodan immediately told responding officers he had shot his wife. It also reports the couple struggled in their bathroom, with Goodan striking his wife “a couple of times,” knocking her down. “He said he did not know how they ended up in their bathroom,” the report continues, “but he ended up with her gun, and he shot her during the fight.” The report indicates the physical struggle involved both hands and feet... [Excerpts] A Columbus couple were found dead in their house Wednesday afternoon in what is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, according to Sgt. Matt Blackstock of the Columbus Police Department. Alisha and Christopher Kendrick of 727 Greenbriar Drive, who according to family members had married in August, were pronounced dead at the scene... Dozens of family members, friends and neighbors stood in the middle of the street for hours in an numbing cold and did not begin to leave the scene until about 8:45 p.m. when the bodies were taken out of the house in black bags and loaded into the back of a white coroner van. Several family members wailed uncontrollably, and a few appeared to become physically ill after police officers crossed the yellow crime scene tape and quietly explained what happened inside the house. “I could hardly believe it,” said Alisha Kendrick’s grandfather, Jeff Ford of Woodland, Ga. “She was a nice, quiet girl... Lieutenant Lynn Joiner says it appears that Christopher Kendrick shot his wife and then killed himself. [Excerpts] For the scene of an apparent murder-suicide, an unusual number of Georgia State Patrol cars could be found Wednesday evening among the throng of emergency vehicles lining Greenbriar Drive. The law enforcement agency typically focuses on traffic enforcement and crashes, but the troopers working alongside Columbus police had something of a personal interest in the case of Alisha Kendrick. Having worked several years as a dispatcher for Georgia highway patrol posts in Manchester and Newnan, Kendrick, 23, had become a familiar voice over the airwaves. Many of her colleagues knew her as “Lili.” “Obviously it caught everybody there by shock that something like this occurred,” said Gordy Wright, a spokesman for the state patrol. “Anytime there’s a tragedy involving a member of the state patrol, it’s not uncommon for other members to go and assist the family”... Their deaths came as a tragic shock to family members and co-workers, many of whom said they hadn’t noticed anything amiss among the newlyweds. “It’s like somebody had just taken all the breath out of me,” said Casey Muller, a friend and former colleague of Alisha Kendrick’s who now works for the Newnan Police Department. “She was one of the kindest and most vivacious people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. “She always had a smile on her face and had the most lively outlook about everything,” Muller added. “I know the department will never be the same.” A Woodland, Ga., native, Alisha Kendrick moved to Columbus about three or four years ago to study at Columbus State University, where she was working toward a medical degree, said her uncle, Olen Barron of Manchester, Ga. “She was very smart,” Barron said. “And she was a beautiful girl. She was my favorite niece”... [Excerpts] A Memphis police officer is off the streets amid allegations he beat a woman inside a motel room. Officer Dexter Walker, a two year veteran of the force, was arrested yesterday by fellow officers... police say things turned violent, and left the victim beaten and bruised... The victim says Walker, her estranged boyfriend, threw her against a wall, strangled her, then hit her in the face. When police arrived, Walker was gone. He turned himself into officers at Raines Station... The 28 year old officer is charged with domestic assault. Police Director Larry Godwin promised to treat the case like any other domestic violence... Walker is free on a $250 bond... WREG On Your Side Investigators also learned this isn't the first time the officer has found controversy. Earlier this year, a Memphis couple, representing themselves in court, sued the city, and Walker alleging improper police conduct. [Excerpts] A Memphis police officer could be out of the job after being charged with hitting his wife. Dexter Walker is charged with domestic assault, a Class A misdemeanor.
"It's just extremely disappointing that one of our own would go out and get involved in this," Memphis Police Director Larry Godwin said Friday... Walker was off duty when he and his wife were staying at a local Extended Stay Hotel. There, he allegedly threw his ex-girlfriend against a wall, strangled her, and then hit her in the face until she was bruised under her right eye."
Walker turned himself in at the Raines Station precinct, where he is assigned. He later posted $250 bond... Walker will appear in court to face charges on January 19. He is currently on paid leave, and will most likely be suspended 15 days, per departmental policy. If he is convicted of domestic assault, he will lose his job. [Full article here]

[Excerpts] A Montrose prosecutor claims an Olathe police officer used his position to convince a woman not to call authorities prior to the officer's June arrest on domestic violence charges. Olathe Police Department officer Michael Percival, 44, allegedly raised his position on at least three occasions to intimidate 42-year-old Elisha Cabrera, according to a motion filed in late August. Montrose Deputy District Attorney Kurt Beckenhauer wants a judge to allow jurors to hear the claims... According to the DA's motion, Percival on one occasion allegedly said, "Who do you think they'll believe, me or you?"... Percival was arrested June 28 on allegations he regularly administered corporal punishments, including beatings with a leather belt and spankings, per the terms of written contracts he had with Cabrera. The defendant threatened the victim by telling her if she told anyone about these activities or "got him into trouble," he would see to it she lost custody of her 8-year-old daughter, according to the DA's motion. The beating allegations came to light after Cabrera's arrest June 18 on charges of third-degree assault, harassment, DUI and obstruction of telephone service. Percival is listed in court records as the victim in that arrest... Percival remains on unpaid leave...

[Excerpts] The trial for an Olathe cop accused of spanking an ex-girlfriend as punishment has been delayed until January, in part because of amended charges the district attorney wants to file against him. Michael Percival was first charged with third-degree assault as an act of domestic violence after the woman, who herself had been arrested for alleged third-degree assault on Percival, told investigators in June that Percival forced her to disrobe from the waist down and submit to 50 lashes... The woman said Percival beat her because she questioned why she and her daughter weren't included on a fishing trip... He was set for trial today, but that has been continued until Jan. 7... The DA's motion claims Percival used his position as an Olathe police officer to intimidate and control the alleged victim. The document said that prior acts by Percival show "when the defendant becomes angry at the victim, (he) knowingly and intentionally engages in acts of violence against the victim... Deputy District Attorney Kurt Beckenhauer said in the motion that statute allows for previous incidents of domestic violence to be admitted... [Excerpts] The woman who last year accused Olathe Police Officer Michael Percival of brutally spanking her as part of a sado-masochistic "contract" will have to take the stand against him. Montrose County Court abused its discretion when it refused to order her to testify, even though prosecutors had granted her immunity, District Judge Charles Greenacre ruled Friday...He was arrested in June 2009 after the woman went to jail for allegedly assaulting him.
