[Excerpts] A Pierce County sheriff's deputy was charged with domestic violence Wednesday after an argument with his girlfriend. Mario Carey, 37, was charged with fourth-degree domestic violence, a misdemeanor, in Bonney Lake Municipal Court... [Bonney Lake] Officers interviewed the two and found probable cause to arrest the deputy... Carey, an eight-year veteran of the Sheriff's Department, was placed on paid administrative leave and, following standard procedure, his weapon was confiscated, sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said. The Sheriff's Department will conduct an internal investigation of the incident, Troyer said. LINK

  1. Yeah these cops that think they are (above) the law need to be severly punished... We trust them to serve and protect us, how can we trust them when they can't even treat the ones that they love with dignity and respect... Allot of people are afraid to report cops because of the code of blue... All I have to say is that I hope he gets what he deserves and someday we will have police force we can actually believe in...

  2. You don't give any clue that you were at the incident, and so few facts are given, that it took me aback to see you say "i hope he gets what he deserves." We don't even know what happened. I do understand your feelings but we have to remember that each of these cases - at least until we know more - involve separate (real) human beings. I'm not defending bad cops but I can't tell from this scant article what actually happened at all.
Now if you want to talk about Pierce County - there's a plenty to discuss about the PCSD's handling of officer-involved domestic violence that has not hit the news, at least not yet.
