[OH] There's hate in that suicide threat Laura.

Suicidal, sadistic, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3 president, ex-SWAT, ex-Strike Team member, once-U.S. Marshal, current Lorain Police Detective Corey Earl is on paid "medical" leave and is not supposed to carry a gun after his wife Laura filed for a protection order. He had gone to their 0nce-shared house - they're divorcing after 24 years - showed her his gun and said he was going to kill himself in front of her (she said). She talked him out of it. He left. She called the Chief. Chief had officers find Earl and he slept at another cops house. His suicide threat is screaming murder. BUT WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO THE CHIEF:

...Earl's wife contacted the Amherst Police Department later in the day to explain what happened, telling them she did not want to call police earlier because she was afraid to get Earl in trouble with his job... Chief Cel Rivera said he will require a doctor's letter before he allows 17-year veteran Officer Corey Earl to work as a police officer again... "My biggest concern is that he gets the help he needs so that he can be OK and be a part of this police department"... officers had been called out to the home at least twice before for disputes between the couple... There were no charges filed in connection with either incident...

[KS] "Standard procedure" to not arrest the mayor for "striking his wife"?

KANSAS
From yesterday's news:
...Edwardsville Mayor William "Heinz" Rodgers was cited earlier this month after allegedly striking his wife during a domestic dispute... Edwardsville police responded to a 911 call on the evening of Aug. 18. But by the time officers had arrived, Rodgers had left the residence. [Edwardsville Interim Police Chief James] Moore added that police officers ran into the mayor later that evening, but did not take him into custody. "That was part of the department's standard procedure"... officials have yet to decide whether to press charges...

But the NYPD never forgets these things... several hundred of Espinal’s former colleagues marched from her old Manhattan narcotics bureau down Eighth Avenue to the Church of St. Charles Borromeo on 141st Street, where a memorial service was held...

By Fellicia Smith
Thursday, August 30, 2007
A police officer placed on unpaid administrative leave has a long history of disciplinary problems, including suspensions. Officer Eric B. Martzolf, 38, was put on leave by the department following his appearance in Massillon Municipal Court on Wednesday on a domestic violence charge. Martzolf is accused of confronting his wife, pushing her to the ground and striking her in the head twice with his fist at her job... his wife asked the judge to order him to attend anger management classes... "I have to be careful because it’s a personnel issue, but we did send him to counseling before" Trustee John Pizzino said... he has been suspended without pay three times, received seven written reprimands, two written warnings and was twice counseled by supervisors for his on-duty conduct... The bargaining agreement between the township and Fraternal Order of Police allows for the department to put Martzolf on unpaid leave pending the outcome of the criminal trial... Martzolf was released from the Stark County Jail on his own recognizance... We’ll be monitoring it closely"...

..."From what we understand, he went to see his wife and ended up hitting her a couple of times and knocked her to the ground"... others at her work -- heard what was going on and came to the victim's aid. That's when Martzolf -- starting yelling obscenities at the co-workers and throwing things at them... Martzolf was taken directly to the Stark County Jail and booked there instead on the Massillon City Jail... "We booked him out at county because we were afraid he might be suicidal," Neftzer said. "We thought they have better facilities there for that. They have counselors and have the ability to put him in an isolation cell."

[NYPD] Whose IN CHARGE over the training of officers?

Runnin' Scared
NYPD Blew It

Kelly's new deputy chief of training brings lots of experience, much of it bad

Village Voice, NY
by Sean Gardiner
August 28th, 2007
The NYPD's new deputy commissioner of training, Wilbur "Bill" Chapman, should have no trouble teaching "New York's Finest" about the pitfalls of sexual harassment, cronyism, and punitive transfers. He's been accused of all that during his checkered career... His five-year stint as police chief in Bridgeport, Connecticut, left that department "functionally unsound"...
Karen Krasicky, an assistant chief under Chapman, detailed some of those remarks in a fall 2004 complaint filed with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities: "Chief Chapman is known for, and I have witnessed,
his complete disregard and lack of respect for women in the workplace. . . . For example, during staff meetings, Chief Chapman uses foul language and on one occasion stated that, during a break, everyone should go and change their Kotex napkins." When Chapman was confronted by his staff with a potential "vote of no confidence," Krasicky wrote, he retorted:
"For all you ladies in the room, fuck you. Oh, I'm not supposed to say that, but fuck you anyway"...
Krasicky, now the police chief in Plymouth, Connecticut, claimed that Chapman passed her over for promotion because she's a woman. According to court papers, the head of the BPD's Internal Affairs office admitted that he didn't do anything about her allegations because he didn't "feel comfortable" investigating his boss. The city later settled Krasicky's complaint for a reported $90,000...

[OH] Denae shot her police officer husband

On Sunday Trotwood Ohio Police Officer Troy Dexter ran from his home, shot twice, to the fire department to call 911.
News Excerpts from today and yesterday: ..."I've got a gun in my hand. Smith & Wesson," Dexter told a 911 dispatcher. "I fought her for the gun. We're going through a divorce. She knew there was somebody else. She asked me to sit down and she shot me in the ribs and in the collar bone. Please hurry up"... When a 911 dispatcher asked Denae Barnett-Dexter why she shot her husband, the 34-year-old mother of two, said, "Because he's trying to divorce me"... Barnett-Dexter shot her husband with a handgun she had purchased about one week ago... Barnett-Dexter fired more than two shots, but he declined to reveal exactly how many. She confessed... The Montgomery County Prosecutor's office has approved two counts of felonious assault...

Former officer changes story about night officer/girlfriend died
KMOV
August 21, 2007
A former police officer on trial for murdering his girlfriend has changed his story about what happened the night of the shooting. The girlfriend was also a police officer, and her department showed up in force Tuesday in the courtroom. Much of the small Normandy Police Department spent Tuesday in court as a gesture of support for the family of fellow Officer Amanda Cates... If convicted of second degree murder, he would be sentenced to ten to 30 years in prison.

But several members of his family ran out of the courtroom crying, while Cates’ family wept quietly and embraced...
Carolyn Cates spoke to the jury on behalf of her daughter, Amanda. Brooks cried during her testimony.

“My sorrow for Mr. Brooks is that he chose not to value my daughter’s life. But he knows the truth, and he will have to live with that for the rest of his life, and even for him that can’t be easy”...

08/22/2007

[EXCERPTS] In a case based on circumstantial evidence, a jury today convicted former sheriff's sergeant John Racz of murdering his estranged wife 16 years ago. ...Racz, 61, closed his eyes as the court clerk read the verdict on charges of first-degree murder. As the jurors reaffirmed their verdict one-by-one, Racz shook his head slightly before standing up to empty his pockets and go to jail... Joann Racz, 31, the oldest of the Racz siblings... "I'm just pretty much in shock right now," she said. "It's just really crazy sad news. I guess if I'm going to say something, I still love my dad, I still love my mom"... Juror Ram Sonthalia, 69, of Sylmar said that seeing the Racz children in the courtroom had no effect on the jury's judgment. "...we were not there to think about that"... Louis Danoff, 66, a retired sheriff's detective, was on the case from 1991, keeping at it even a few years after he retired... "I'm really thrilled, I'm really happy for the new blood they brought in to get us over the hump," said Danoff, who attended the trial daily. "... I can't believe the jury came back so quickly. [TX] Previously reinstated Officer Brown pleads guilty to killing Kathy

Brown has conditionally pleaded guilty - as long as there is a 50 year cap on his sentence - which he has to serve at least half of...

Excerpts from Monday's news:

A former Bexar County detention officer who stabbed to death his estranged girlfriend last year in an apparent fit of jealousy pleaded guilty to murder Monday in an agreement with prosecutors that capped his prison sentence at a maximum of 50 years… “so we could have a for-sure guilty.”… He then called [Kathy] Chavira and said one of their kids had fallen ill. Chavira rushed over, and when she arrived, [Alfred John] Brown began stabbing her…

“My parents lost a daughter, my nephews and nieces lost their mother,” Debbie De La Rosa, Chavira’s sister, said. “I lost my sister and my best friend for being selfish. Now (Brown) has his. My life will never be the same without her”…

[NYPD] Cpt Sanchez DID BEAT Officer Sharon Gandarilla

[News excerpts] A jury convicted 15-year NYPD veteran Alberto Sanchez of beating his subordinate and girlfriend, Sharon Gandarilla... In convicting Sanchez, the jury rejected an argument from a defense lawyer, Marvy Kornberg, who said that Gandarilla fabricated her accusations to support a civil lawsuit she later brought against the city and the captain, charging sexual harassment... Sanchez guilty of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, but acquitted him of a second misdemeanor charge of unlawful imprisonment (prosecutors claimed he kept her locked in a car at one point during the fight). He will be sentenced on October 18 and faces up to a year in jail...

Notes I have from previous news, with pictures of Sharon coming out of court after Cpt. Sanchez was found guilty.

(Sharon, may the mighty leagues of angels surround you):
Feb 26, 2007
...SANCHEZ WAS CHARGED WITH SLAPPING THE VICTIM IN THE FACE... SANCHEZ THEN DRAGGED HER BY THE HAIR TO HER CAR, PUSHED HER INTO THE FRONT SEAT, KICKED HER, PREVENTED HER FROM FLEEING AND THEN GOT INTO THE DRIVER’S SEAT AND DROVE OFF. A FEW BLOCKS AWAY, SANCHEZ AGAIN PUNCHED AND KICKED THE VICTIM WHEN SHE TRIED TO ESCAPE FROM THE CAR, ACCORDING TO COURT PAPERS...
(Dragged her, pushed her, punched her, kicked her.)
Aug 15, 2007
...AFTER HE ACCUSED HER OF SLEEPING WITH A FELLOW COP. SHE WAS TREATED IN AN EMERGENCY ROOM FOR BRUISES AND BLACK EYES... "OFFICER GANDARILLA ALSO CHARGES IN HER FEDERAL COMPLAINT THAT WHEN SHE WAS ATTACKED ON THE STREET IN SEPTEMBER 2006, IT WAS WITNESSED BY INTERNAL AFFAIRS OFFICERS WHO WERE INVESTIGATING CAPTAIN SANCHEZ ON UNRELATED MISCONDUCT CHARGES... THREE MONTHS LATER, SHE SAYS, SANCHEZ ASSAULTED HER AGAIN IN A BRONX PARKING LOT. WHEN COPS ARRIVED ON THE SCENE IN RESPONSE TO 911 CALLS, "SANCHEZ IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS A CAPTAIN AND ORDERED THE RESPONDING OFFICERS AWAY...

(He "ordered the responding officers away'...
I could cry.
They should all be on trial.)

Aug 17, 2007
...Two witnesses, including an NYU security guard, have identified Sanchez as the man they saw attacking Gandarilla . In a 911 tape played for the jury yesterday, an unknown male caller told authorities he was witnessing an attack and that the male assailant was telling his female victim, "You're going to die"...

(Sharon's alive.)

[US][TN] Top Secret Service Agent Garner on trial for domestic attack

Lon Garner, 56, had been the the special agent in charge of the Secret Service Denver office before his arrest last November. His trial started today. He's accused of choking his wife until her ears started to ring and her peripheral vision became dark, of choking her until their son, Lon Jr., struck his father on the head, knocking him down. Garner initially faced a misdemeanor assault charge. The more serious counts were filed "based on the evidence." Christine Garner said she waited almost a year to come forward because her husband threatened he would "eliminate" anyone who tried to ruin his career. A restraining order was issued and he was ordered to stay away from his wife. I don't know if he still is under order to wear a GPS tracking bracelet, but he was before. (Did he put it on?) Garner says he pushed his wife down to defend himself but he denied choking or threatening his wife.

[TN] Detective James Smith's charged with domestic assault

Soddy Daisy folks have made it public that one of their police officers is on leave pending investigation into a charge of domestic assault. Not much else is said. The reported incident involves Detective James Smith, happened Friday, and made it into the news yesterday. "Soddy officers handled the preliminary investigation then turned it over to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department. Smith is now on administrative leave."

[FL] Deputy Thompson's wife is broken. He was "in one of his moods"

Thompson's wife suffered a ruptured spleen that required removal, fractures of both eye sockets, impaired eyesight, two bones broken in her right arm, a swollen face and several bruises on her body. He says doesn't remember doing it.

Wife in hospital after domestic dispute
Nic Corbett ncorbett@tallahassee.com
August 18, 2007
[EXCERPTS] A Leon County Sheriff's deputy was fired and arrested early Friday... At the time of [Deputy Mark] Thompson's arrest, his wife was in guarded condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries... At first, she insisted that doctors not report him... the couple had been out celebrating her birthday... her husband was in one of his moods... Thompson grabbed the steering wheel and jerked it around, struck his wife in the forehead, fired a handgun out of the car window and then put the gun to her head... After she pulled into their driveway, he got out and she quickly reversed, driving off... When she returned, he wasn't there, but the house was torn apart... she "had never hidden in the front closet before," but this time she did. He found her, but she ran outside, accidently letting his dog out... her husband handcuffed her to the bed... He then returned with the dog and demanded,

"How could you
do this
to my dog?"

He took off the handcuffs, dragged her to the living room, kicked her several times and then straddled her and started hitting her head and face. He finally stopped beating her and asked if she wanted to go to the doctor. She said

she wanted to

rest...

...She had said she was scared to report it
because
her husband
is a deputy...

[NY] Wrapped in web woven while he was Officer Watson

("Person of interest’’ Jamestown police officer Michael Watson had an intimate relationship with Yolanda Bindics who then came up missing. He resigned after a subsequent investigation revealed he had sexual relations with several JPD employees and stalked them after the relationships had ended.)

Watson In Waiting
Criminal, Civil Cases Hinge On Appeals

By PATRICK L. FANELLI pfanelli@post-journal.com
Jamestown Post Journal, NY - Aug 18, 2007
[Excerpts] Three weeks after state Supreme Court Justice Timothy Walker dismissed the lawsuit filed against the city of Jamestown by former police officer Michael Watson, his only hope rests with the Fourth Appellate Division in Rochester, which will hear his appeal at some point in the months to come....
[Watson's attorney Paul] Webb’s central argument was that police officials acted either maliciously or recklessly when they charged Watson with seven counts of stalking, four counts of aggravated harassment and one count of official misconduct in the wake of Jamestown resident Yolanda Bindics’ disappearance more than three years ago...
Webb also questioned the charges that were brought against Watson since they alleged that he stalked and harassed the three victims, though the three victims reportedly did not want charges brought against him... The judge, however, looked to the three victims’ original statements on which the charges were based... In the end, [state Supreme Court Justice Timothy] Walker granted Ms. Fiore-Nieves motion for summary judgement, dismissing the case, since he determined that police officials did not act maliciously or recklessly and thus were protected from civil actions under the doctrine of qualified immunity... Ironically, the six misdemeanor charges that remain against Watson also await a decision by the Fourth Appellate Division. In June, Judge Ward ruled that prosecutor Edward Cosgrove could not present certain e-mails and phone conversations critical to his case since he didn’t list them in earlier court documents... If both Cosgrove and Webb lose their respective appeals, that will be end of the criminal case the city is pursuing against Watson and the civil case Watson is pursuing against the city...

[NM] Another dv battery charge for Narcotics Chief LeBlanc

Narcotics chief faces battery charge
Santa Fe police sergeant remains on duty pending domestic violence allegation

Santa Fe New Mexican
By Jason Auslander
August 15, 2007 - [EXCERPTS] The current head of the Santa Fe Police Department's burglary-narcotics unit was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence this week... Sgt. Michael LeBlanc... - remains on duty... "We haven't heard anything yet to make us put him on leave," [Police chief Eric] Johnson said. "If he's not restricted from carrying a firearm and being that this comes from a domestic situation where he's going through a divorce, my guess is his duty situation won't change unless he violates (the restraining order)"... LeBlanc's stipulated restraining order makes no mention of firearms... The latest charge of battery on a household member against LeBlanc occurred July 22, when he allegedly punched his wife in the left arm and left thigh... He also allegedly pushed her against a wall three days later... His wife told an Albuquerque police officer that "she is afraid of Michael due to the fact that Michael has hit her in the past … and (she) kept saying that she is very afraid of Michael due to the fact that he has weapons inside the house," the complaint says. An investigator took pictures of bruises... LeBlanc was not arrested after the incident... In 2004, LeBlanc was charged with battery on a household member and assault on a household member... between LeBlanc and the mother of his older daughter... LeBlanc refused to return the girl to her mother because he felt she wasn't providing an appropriate home environment... LeBlanc used an "arm-bar" - described in the report as "a law enforcement escort technique" - to walk her off his property... The woman, who was pregnant, also said LeBlanc threatened to shoot her in the stomach, according to the report... LeBlanc received a deferred sentence at the time, and the charges were dismissed six months later...

[CA] Hanging at the end of ex-deputy Racz's murder-of-Ann trial

Ann Mineko Racz disappeared without a trace in 1991, four days after filing for divorce from her husband of 19 years, former Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy John Racz. The murder trial is ending. I was going to wait for the verdict before posting - but changed my mind because sometimes life hangs. This weekend it will be hanging for their children, everyone who pushed to get charges on Racz, and everyone who has invested of themselves during this trial. But especially it will be their children. (My prayers include them.)
...[District Attorney Beth ] Silverman said Katelin Racz's statement sums it up best: "It's sad to think mom abandoned us, but it's sadder to think dad slaughtered her"...
A few excerpts from today and yesterday's news:

...There is no smoking gun, no body, no eyewitness. But friends, co-workers, neighbors and sheriff's homicide investigators testified how Ann doted on her children and looked to the future. And they described how she feared her husband... She [District Attorney Beth Silverman] repeated the words of several witnesses who recalled Ann's fear of her husband, including the testimony of one friend who said Ann feared John would kill her and her body would never be found. She reminded jurors of inconsistencies in testimony describing John Racz's stories to friends, family and homicide investigators... "His story doesn't make sense"...

..."He wanted to prevent her from walking away with half of their joint estate [$550,000]"... Defense attorneys maintain that Ann Racz had grown unhappy in her marriage and chose to leave on a trip to think over the divorce from her husband... "There's no way on God's green earth that he gave his wife $25,000 to go away to think after she served him with divorce papers"...

[CA] Ex-Deputy Bruce statment: "I shot and killed my wife..."

Excerpts from yesterday's news:
A sheriff's deputy pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to fatally shooting his wife in the jaw during a December argument in their Alpine home and faces up to 21 years in prison. The plea by sheriff's Deputy Lowell "Sam" Bryan Bruce came after El Cajon Superior Court Judge Allan J. Preckel first rejected a proposed deal that would have limited Bruce's prison term to 15 years. In a hearing last week, the judge indicated that he would accept a 15-year ceiling on Bruce's prison term. But on Tuesday he said he had a "sea change" in his thinking after reviewing the case and wanted the flexibility to sentence Bruce to prison for as little as six years and as long as 21 years....

Bruce lawyers asked to meet with Preckel in his chambers to discuss the case, but Preckel said he wanted everything done in open court, in public view... Preckel said he would accept the plea agreement only if it leaves open the possibility of the longer prison term... After a 20-minute break, Bruce pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and the personal use of a pistol... The judge read a statement on Bruce's behalf: "I shot and killed my wife, which resulted in her death"...

[OH] (OHIO IS CLOGGING MAH BLOG)

HEY OHIO! YOU ARE CLOGGING MY BLOG WITH YOUR UNHANDLED BUSINESS! MEDIA, THIS IS ABOUT MORE THAN "STRESS". IT HAS TO DO WITH POWER, THE GUN CULTURE, TACTICAL HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT TRAINING, ACCENTUATED SURVEILLANCE CAPABILITIES, THE INTIMIDATING LENGTH OF THAT LONG ARM OF THE LAW WHEN IT REACHES INTO THE FAMILIES OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, WITH CAREERS AND LIFE ITSELF DANGLING IN THE BALANCE.

IT HAS TO DO WITH SOME COMING TO BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE THE LAW - OR CONVINCING OTHERS, WHO THEN ARE TRAPPED. AND LET'S BE AWARE, OFFICERS ARE KILLED IN DOMESTIC INCIDENTS ALSO, NOT ALWAYS BY THEIR OWN HAND.

IT HAS TO DO WITH A BROTHERHOOD AND WALL OF SILENCE.

ALL FOR ONE.

PLEASE USE YOUR POWER TO ENCOURAGE OHIO LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO EMBRACE THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE (IACP) MODEL POLICY ON POLICE OFFICER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE," THEN TO JUMP OVER TO THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND ACCESS THAT CRYSTAL JUDSON BRAME DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROTOCOL PROGRAM MONEY ($186M AVAILABLE) SET THERE TO HELP AGENCIES GET IN FRONT OF THIS.

HOW MUCH AVOIDABLE PAIN IS BEING PERPETRATED? TO HOW MANY PEOPLE? ON HOW MANY LEVELS OF HARM?

I JUST LISTENED AGAIN TO THE JULY 911 CALL FROM JESSICA MEHAFFEY. SHE'S ON THE PHONE WITH DISPATCH AND HER MOM AT THE SAME TIME WHEN HER CLEVELAND POLICE OFFICER DAD, REX MEHAFFEY, SHOOTS HER MOM IN THE HEAD. (SHE DOESN'T KNOW DURING THAT CALL THAT HE TURNED THE GUN ON HIMSELF ALSO.) WHAT I NOTICED TODAY THAT I DIDN'T NOTICE BEFORE IS THAT SHE SAYS DURING THAT CALL THAT HER DAD "HAS BEEN THREATENING SUICIDE FOR WEEKS."

WEEKS!!!

WERE THERE POINTS OF INTERVENTION? NO ONE ASKED OUT LOUD. LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES NEED POLICIES TO FOLLOW - FOR THE VICTIMS, THE OFFICERS. THE PUBLIC.

PLEASE DON'T WAIT FOR $75M LAWSUITS LIKE THE CITY OF TACOMA DID. YOU CAN BET TACOMA HAS AN OFFICER-INVOLVED POLICY FOR THEIR POLICE DEPARTMENT NOW. SO DOES EVERY COP DEN IN WASHINGTON. ARE WRONGFUL DEATH LAWSUITS THE ONLY WAY?

ISN'T IT BETTER TO BE WISE AND AHEAD OF THE TRAGEDIES?
ISN'T IT BETTER TO AT LEAST LOOK LIKE FOLKS TRIED - EVEN IF ALL OF THEM CAN'T BE AVOIDED?

BELOW ARE LINKS TO OHIO CASES POSTED ON THIS BLOG AND THEY ARE ONLY SAMPLES OF OHIO CASES - THERE ARE OVER A HUNDRED THAT MANAGED TO MAKE IT INTO THE NEWS FROM JUST THE LAST 3 YEARS. HOW MANY NEVER SURFACED THAT FAR? HOW MANY ARE ABOUT TO?
"...HOW MANY DEATHS DOES IT TAKE TIL WE KNOW

(888) COPSCOP saves officers lives (and those they might have taken with them)

BEHIND THE EPIDEMIC OF COP SUICIDE
SURVIVOR'S TALE OF JOB ANGUISH

NYPOST
By BRAD HAMILTON
August 12, 2007

[Excerpts] Chris, a Brooklyn police sergeant, remembers the exact moment he decided to shoot himself. For months he'd battled job stress and marital problems by drinking heavily. "As much as I could get into me as fast as I could," he recalled. "I was out of control"...
If the NYPD found out, he'd lose his job. His life would be over. "I was scared," he said. "I didn't want to die and I didn't want to live. It was a pretty lonely place to be." But then he remembered
a pen he'd been given by a volunteer group of cops, the Police Organization Providing Peer Assistance hot-line number that had stuck in his head: (888) COPSCOP. They'd given , or POPPA, which comes to the aid of distressed fellow officers. The pen had printed on hit aa presentation during his promotion classes, talked about how one could get counseling and remain confidential. The bosses wouldn't have to find out. He called. "Within an hour there were two cops - a guy and a girl - with my wife in the ER, reassuring me that everything was going to be OK. There's this fear that your career is over. Basically they told me they were going to get me better." Their help saved his life, he said. Today it's more needed than ever... "We're very concerned," said Bill Genet, head of POPPA... Genet is now pushing the NYPD to conduct annual mental-health checkups for all officers. "The Commissioner's Office is very receptive to the concept," he said. "They just don't know how it can be worked out."
Confidentiality is the key to the success of his group... "There's a stigma to seeking help," he said, noting that officers often reject NYPD counseling for depression or alcohol abuse because requesting it automatically leads to the cop losing his gun and shield.
"You have a culture that has a very anti-mental-health mentality. It's 'Oh, be a man.' "... After taking a sick leave, Chris recovered. He didn't lose his job - and no one at his precinct ever found out what happened. He'll soon to be promoted to lieutenant, his marriage is intact, and he's the happy father of a daughter with another child on the way. "I'm eternally grateful to POPPA - they saved my life," he said...

[KY] The rising of trooper's wife Terri Moore

WIFE SUES STATE TROOPER, OTHER OFFICERS
SAYS SHE WAS ASSAULTED, TREATED AS CRIMINAL
KENTUCKY.COM
By Cassondra Kirby
Aug. 07, 2007

[EXCERPTS] A Perry County woman who alleged that her husband, a Kentucky state trooper, assaulted her in August last year has filed a lawsuit against him and several other troopers who investigated the case. According to the lawsuit, Terri Lynn Moore claims that troopers with the state police post in Hazard attempted to protect her husband, Terry Lloyd Brewer, who could lose his job if convicted of domestic violence because it threatens his right to carry a gun... The lawsuit says the troopers treated Moore as the criminal, even threatening to arrest her. Troopers also helped Brewer obtain an emergency protective order against Moore, even though she was the victim of the assault... Moore says, Brewer verbally abused and threatened her, hit her and would not allow her to leave his home. David Banks and John McMahan, the investigating officers who responded to the disturbance, treated Moore with "disdain" and acted as though Brewer were the victim, the lawsuit says... According to the lawsuit, officials with internal affairs also dismissed Moore's claims and "failed to thoroughly investigate... Internal affairs "demeaned, humiliated, intimidated and debased her during the interview process," the lawsuit says... Moore is seeking compensation for pain and suffering, past and future medical expenses, lost wages, loss of earning capacity and attorneys' fees...

[GA] Deputy Gibson kills himself. (WHERE IN GEORGIA IS MICHELLE?)

My FIRST QUESTION isn't addressed by the media at all.
Where in Georgia is Michelle, the wife of Chief Deputy Osborn? Is she safe or is she still in the house with Osborne, the accused & suspended trigger-man in a drive-by shooting last month that appears to have been meant to kill Michelle's admitted lover?
(You can't grasp the seriousness of the drive-by these cops perpetrated - which the sheriff helped cover up - unless you see the video below.)
The driver of the car:

Deputy charged in drive-by shooting kills himself
By JEFFRY SCOTT
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
08/09/07
[EXCERPTS] A Towns County sheriff's deputy charged in connection with a shooting attack on a local resident last month apparently committed suicide at his home Wednesday night... Jesse Gibson, 56, was found outside his home, the victim of what was believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He left behind an audio tape for his family... Gibson was allegedly the driver on the night of July 9 when fellow Towns County chief deputy Eddie Osborn allegedly fired gunshots into the home of Gary Dean. A week later, Gibson and Osborn were charged with aggravated assault in the shooting... Osborn shot up Dean's home because Dean was having an affair with Osborn's wife. Last week, Towns County Sheriff Rudy Eller was charged with lying to GBI investigators and hiding evidence [THE WEAPON, DUCT TAPED INTO A COMPARTMENT IN HIS DRESSER] to protect Osborn. Osborn was suspended without pay. Gibson was fired... Sheriff Eller was released on a $250,000 bond last week, but is still sheriff...
(LET NO MORE HARM COME TO ANY.)
