DISPUTE PROMPTS ARRESTS OF OKLAHOMA CITY OFFICER, WOMAN

A first-year Oklahoma City police officer and his common-law wife were arrested Thursday after police received a 911 call about a domestic situation at Summit Ridge Apartments. Michael Charles Sumpter Jr., 23, was arrested on a complaint of domestic abuse in the presence of a minor. Kendra Nicole Hanley, 20, was arrested on complaints of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse in the presence of a minor... both had received injuries during a fight... Sumpter and Hanley were taken to jail and both posted bail. Sumpter remains on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of criminal and internal investigations... For one year after graduating from the Oklahoma City Police Academy, officers are labeled "probationary officers.” [Full article here]
