A circuit judge has refused to lower the bond for a former Highmore police chief accused of shooting and killing his wife. Forty-one year-old Ken Huber had his first court appearance in Highmore on a charge of first-degree murder and an alternate count of first-degree manslaughter in the death of his wife,
Pamela, who was Highmore's city finance officer. Huber has said his wife was shot October 28th when his pistol fired accidentally in their home. He is being held on a $500,000 cash bond. Circuit Judge James W. Anderson said Tuesday he would not reduce the bond because both charges carry a sentence of up to life in prison.
