ALBUQUERQUE -- Investigators remain tight-lipped about the shooting death of a woman who died in her southwest Albuquerque home this morning. Amanda Medina, 24, was found dead in her home in the 800 block of Isleta Blvd. SW about 10 a.m. The call for help came from her boyfriend, Frank Baca Jr., who recently graduated from the Albuquerque Police Department Academy. Crime-scene investigators were still at the house late this afternoon, but so far Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputies aren't releasing any information about what they found inside...It’s still unclear who pulled the trigger and if the shooting was a homicide, suicide or an accident. Also unknown is whether the gun involved was Baca’s service weapon. “They got two kids, a little boy a little girl,” Richard Moya, who works at a tire shop next door, said..

Sheriff's detectives are investigating a fatal shooting at a rookie Albuquerque Police Department officer's home, possibly with his service weapon. The officer, Frank Baca Jr., 24, called 911 just before 10 a.m. Friday reporting his girlfriend had just committed suicide by shooting herself... Medina's mother in Las Vegas, N.M., did not want to comment. Marcantel said Baca has been cooperative with detectives. He also said Baca was not in uniform when deputies arrived...

  2. What most people don't know is that Frank Baca Jr tried to get Amanda to learn how to shoot a gun and she wanted nothing to do with it. How many people that kill themselves actually shoot themselves in their chest. And being a cop, why would he leave a loaded gun hanging around - especially with children in the house.

  3. What people don't know is that Frank wanted Amanda to learn how to shoot a gun and she did not want to have anything to do with it. Also - how many people who commit suicide shoot themselves in the chest?

I am Amanda's best friend. Frank is a low life person for what he has done to her. Knowing everyday the pain an anger she went through with that pile of crap..........I hope that the person he is with now learns before it is to late for her. Amanda was a good person, and I know that something more happened that day, I can feel it in my heart. I miss you Amanda and think of you everyday of my life.

  11. After hearing a story about franki I decided to look into it. I have met him, once. He seems to be one of the most kind, sincere, genuine people I have met. He has a warmth about him. I dont know what happened in 2006, but I do know that in 2010 I can account for what I have witnessed from his character and it does NOT entail a monster of any sort.

  12. Congratulations!!!! Amongst the thousands of comments submitted to this blog yours is the dumbest ever.

You MET someone and are vouching for their character.

I don't even believe you are giving a true account of what you did or who you are, but that aside - you can't know if someone did something private with their lover, good or bad, four years ago - by meeting them.

(Nothing makes sense except what's TRUE.)

  13. You met "franki" only once, hunh? haha.

I'm not(not) posting more of your comments here but if you want to get a response from me on the cr*p you are trying to send through now, I guess you will have to go make a secret email account and write me in a way I can tell you what I think about your further comments.

I think I worded that all very nice.

  14. The actions of someone very dramatic is being pushed off on someone else. Your kind of sick in a way, wishing, it had been more. Go harp on something worth while. like kids who have been abused by their parents,or world famine. If you have the resources to get information why don't you start a website dedicated to something a little more truthful and helpful. In truth a mother abandoned her children by committing suicide. I'm a pretty good judge in character and you would never do something so self giving. You probably should be working for some crappy gossip column about celebrities who would never give you a second glance...I am sure. After the pathetic run down, you would slander their name with lies, but that's exactly why you should work a gossip column. No one believes gossip. They like to read about as do I,but who really gives a shit? Go ponder on something more fulfilling and please stop embarrassing your self.
CONGRATULATIONS,A website was created in good intention, only to be steered in a different direction by you.

You will not get the privilege of another response from me. Nothing you could say would offend me. Mostly because I am right and you are wrong. Go ahead post another theatrical response with out posting my comments. You are the coward.

  15. This one does sounds fishy but it's common enough for women when making self inflicted gunshot wounds for suicide to shoot themselves in the chest. That fact doesn't say that much.

  16. No one knows what happened that day, but the people involved and God... Some have assumptions, some have gut feelings and some may have a little more. The bottom line is, many lives have been affected due to whatever may have happened that day and innocent people will continue to be affected and fall victim to the past...

  17. It's called the domino effect...One can be the cause without being the effect. I use to think I was a good judge of character also...

Amanda died only 15 minutes after telling her mom she was getting ready to go home with her. Frank was seeing Jessica behind Amandas back & so she was leaving him.....he had the nerve to introduce Jessica 2 his parents as Amanda's friend the same week she died!

Frank had a history of domestic abuse against Amanda police were called on him in Amanda's home town of Las Vegas years before her death whoever charges were never files because Amanda didn't want to pursue them. Frank had everyone fulled....we all thought he was a great guy when we first met him respectful, caring, helping care for HER daughter but then his true colors came out....talk about Jekyll & Hyde!!!
