The Paris Police Department charged one of their own officers with drug possession today. At 12:08 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the home of Officer James Guest on a domestic disturbance call involving Guest and his wife. Upon arrival, officers were told that Guest had brought into his house marijuana and other paraphernalia confiscated on other police calls. A search of the house produced a small but usable amount of marijuana. Officers also performed a thorough search of Guest's vehicle and his police station locker, but no other contraband was found. Guest immediately resigned his position with the Paris Police Department and has been charged with a class B misdemeanor for possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. He was to be arrested today on those charges. The case is to be presented to the County Attorney and other criminal charges are possible. Guest has been with the department since July 2006. [Source]
