A San Diego County sheriff's deputy has been charged with five felonies and a misdemeanor linked to the alleged beating of his girlfriend after a raucous party at his home in San Ysidro. Deputy Leanno Martinez, 32, is set for a readiness conference May 12 in Superior Court and a preliminary hearing June 4. He was arrested April 5 and released on bail this week. He has pleaded not guilty. The charges include battery, false imprisonment, making a criminal threat, assault with intent to inflict great bodily harm, and inflicting injury. Martinez had been assigned to the Imperial Beach station.

SAN DIEGO -- A San Diego County Sheriff's Deputy has been charged with five felony counts stemming from an altercation with a girlfriend after a party at his home in San Ysidro, court documents obtained by 10News show. Deputy Leanno Martinez, who is assigned to the Imperial Beach sheriff's sub-station, is accused of beating his girlfriend and threatening to kill her after a night of partying at his home on April 5, 2009, according to the documents. Martinez, 32, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in court on April 14, 2009 and remains free on bail.

  2. Is he a man or a boy? You think you are helping him and you are not. You are implying that over time he couldn't come up with one alternative... like he has no brain OR self control.
    And in case you didn't know - blaming the beating victim for her own beating just appears desperate on your part.

  3. I know this guy, I saw him graduate from the sheriff dept with my X. What my X told me, is this guy was a loose cannon. He was always under IA investigations. What I cannot believe is that his employment did not due a dam thing then. I know he has had personal complaints. The sheriff Dept defends there own. I am currently going this some shit with SD Sheriff dept becasue of my X. Big suprise, they are protecting him.

  4. You are judging him by what your "X" told you? You are still on friendly speaking terms with your "X" and yet you stated you are going through the SAME thing with that department about your "X"?

    Your "X" is telling you something about a guy he knew in the academy? How many years ago was this? AND you kept up with this deputies carrier ever since? Sounds like you are a liar or a stalker to me.
