A Rockview state trooper was charged Friday in Huntingdon County with assault, burglary, false imprisonment and other charges after a woman accused him of forcing his way into her house and assaulting her in a domestic incident. Timothy D. Lear, 31, has been suspended without pay following his arrest. The woman alleges Lear was a former boyfriend who, the evening of April 19, ripped and pushed through a screen door to her Huntingdon County home during an argument. He then accused her of having an affair, grabbed her arms to the point of bruising them and held her while she tried to get to a phone, court papers say. Police say the woman didn’t report this to Huntingdon state police until April 22, and said after she was able to escape from the house and get help, she went back inside to where Lear had fallen on the stairs and helped him clean and bandage a cut on his hand... District Judge Doug Gummo set his bail at $10,000 unsecured — meaning he won’t have to post any money unless he violates the terms set by the judge. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 24 at 1:30 p.m. in Huntingdon County, and Muir said more details on Lear’s defense will probably come out then... [Full article here]

"You should educate yourself on the psychology of an abuser before you make statements like that ..abusers are NOT easy to spot, it's called a "Jekyll and Hyde" personality. Abuse is an intentional act that one person uses in a relationship to control the other. (I.e. one reason that he did what he did) And further more if Tim Lear was such an outstanding father why did he [REDACTED TWO LINES[. As far as badgering the girl, you should keep those opinions to yourself until you become victim of abuse, then see who the "mad" person is...."

    BURGLARY CHARGE DROPPED AGAINST TROOPER
Assault, trespass counts remain as case against Rockview officer heads to trial

[Excerpts] A felony burglary charge was dismissed Monday against suspended Rockview state police trooper Timothy D. Lear, who was accused of assaulting an ex-girlfriend during an argument in April. Huntingdon County District Judge Douglas L. Gummo threw out the burglary accusation, but said a felony trespass and misdemeanor simple assault, false imprisonment and other charges will stick as the case proceeds to trial. Lear’s attorney, Karen Muir, opened the hearing by telling Gummo that the woman who accused Lear didn’t want to testify. “When I broached that issue with (Deputy Attorney General James M. Reeder) he looked me in the eye and said if she refused to testify, he would throw her in jail,” Muir told the judge, an accusation Reeder didn’t deny. Reeder said the woman never expressed hesitation about pressing charges for the incident, but he would ask the court to arrest her for contempt if she wouldn’t take the stand. Muir says the woman is being “revictimized” by the prosecutor... About halfway through her 45 minutes of testimony, the judge interrupted the hearing briefly to tell the woman that her demeanor while on the stand was troubling to him. “The defendant is facing some serious charges here today,” Gummo told her. “I don’t expect you to be smiling or smirking here today.” Reeder blamed her demeanor on nerves... http://www.centredaily.com/news/breaking_news/story/1468185.html

    1. Well my friend, I was there that day, not for either party but because I had to be, and if you were there and telling the whole story, you would know that it was Lear's attorney who cried TO THE judge(the judge didn't even see it) that ONE smirk was made...know why? I'll tell the truth as to why..Tim Lear Who is close to 300 lbs mind you and the victim weighing Maybe 110lbs,Lear told the judge that he left that day wearing a STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE baby doll t-shirt, which the victim stated that she didn't even own. Trust me after that lie that Lear told, the victim wasn't the only one smirking

  8. Over and over... it's always "victimize the victom". The guy's friends stick up for him because he's "great". NO ONE knows what people can be like behind closed doors. NO ONE. Police officers must exert "control" for a living. If they allow it to cross over into their personal lives... in a situation of jealousy or love... bad things happen. And that victim will be victimized by the defense lawyers, the media and all the friends of this guy. And it's a real shame. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT PEOPLE ARE CAPABLE OF BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. NO ONE.

  9. Well said. I see it here all the time. It's dumbfounding that there are people who really think that you can KNOW what happens with a lover, spouse, or child privately behind closed doors - based on how they present themselves at work or social circumstances.

It's one of the reasons dv is so deadly. It's not always visible and people do not do what they can to intervene or protect.

  10. Amazing that this trial is being dragged out. There is certain reasons why. Like what has been common knowledge in this town. There is others involved that would not look good fro the elites in Huntingdon.

Tpr. LEAR took this to a jury of his peers and was found not guilty on all charges. It was a joke from the beginning and I am glad the truth has come full circle.

    1. Your right a jury of PEERS...I wonder if Tim's late father who used to be buddy's w the judge helped, or how he threatened ppl to lie for him on the stand (which is in court and police documents) had anything to do with the verdict or could it be because Lear NEVER EVEN TOOK THE STAND!!

  13. Ummmmmm. Behind the Blue Wall...don't you have an update to make? Something about the outcome of this case?

  14. Ummmmmm, if you mean the news reports from May and August of 2010, no. It's elsewhere on this blog. But after your comment I did do a quick Google scan and see Lear's lawsuits were thrown out this year:

"...TIMOTHY D. LEAR, Plaintiff v. GEORGE ZANICK, BRIAN LEWIS, LAURIE FORSHEY, BRIAN HAUBRICK, and TIMOTHY MERCER, Defendants...

...Defendants' motions to dismiss are granted... Counts I and II of plaintiff's complaint will be dismissed... Counts III and IV of plaintiff's complaint are dismissed... Count I against defendant Forshey is dismissed..."

If there's something more than that you will have to provide the substantiation for it.

  15. Since I don't spend too much time poring over this site for other strings that pertain to this particular thread, I'm referring to the outcome of this case specifically. What was the result of the criminal case against the Trooper? Was he found guilty?

    1. The better question for you to ask is the 101 ways lear got not guilty...number one reason being LIE
