[Excerpt] A Berrien County sheriff's deputy was sentenced Monday to serve nine months on probation for assaulting a man in a domestic violence situation. As part of the sentence, Carl E. Jones, 46, of St. Joseph Township was ordered to pay a fine, costs and restitution totaling $1,426.
