To Pablo's family - I am not trying to villianize him. He was tormented. Suicide is always sad, but the last act of Pablo was in thinking only of himself. Not Makasha, not the children, not Makasha's friends and family, and not you. God's mercy or wrath are not ours to determine. Anger, forgiveness, disbelief, grief - are what's left to those who loved them.

I wish that both Makasha and Pablo were still here to work out their problems or find another way to walk away from them - but not nearly as much as friends and family do.

My [real] prayers are for both families, their colleagues, friends - and everyone devastated by what cannot be changed now.

It is done.
Now it is about the children.

  2. Yes, that is "Kasha", which is what she liked to be called. She was beautiful and smart and kind. She was actually already "Dr. Colonvega", because she was a chiropractor, but she was about to graduate second in our medical school class. She was just the sort of person we all wish we could be. I still can't believe this could happen to someone so amazing.

  5. Kasha was my cousin. Though we didn't see each other often enough she was very encouraging and full of life. I am tourmented with the thoughts of why and how this happened but I pray to God that he help us move past this and make a way for her children to live a healthy happy life. As for Pablo. He was obviously sick in the head and needed help. I just wish that someone would have seen that earlier

  7. Im tired of the fact that people keep on making him as an evil person, as a beast. Does anyone knew him from before he was married? Does anyone knew the fact that he has three more kids and the fact that his wife never cared about them or his family? Do you people still believe that he kill her and kill himself? Forensic already told his family that he was dead at 8:15am...she was dead at 8:31am...Im sorry but he couldnt kill her. He wasnt a saint, but he was an bad person either...And it hurts that people keep on making him as the bad one, when they didnt even knew him.

  8. It has been four years since I last saw Makasha after graduation from chiropractic school, She was the most remarkable person I ever met and many would attest to that if they met her. On many occassions she helped me through with my studies and I thanked her a million times, but never told her that I would not have graduated if it hasn't been for her. She would take time out of her busy schedule to tutor me and many others to keep us up to speed. Thats the kind of person she was. I am sure medical school was a breeze for her. Such an amazing person. Would never forget her. Rest in peace Makasha and God bless.

  9. I don't think that Pablo was a beast. After all, Kasha loved him and had his children...would she have chosen him if he were a beast? no. However, it looks as if he took her life. Just because she died later doesn't mean she wasn't shot first. It is a tragic loss, both of an accomplished medical student and a police officer and soldier. I don't know what may have made him snap...but even though I only met him once (he seemed like a nice guy with a good sense of humor) I would have gone to help him if he had let me know he needed it. We will never know what actually happened, but even if he did murder Kasha, I understand that many people loved him...including her. And honestly, knowing Kasha, I understand why someone might kill himself at the thought of losing her...but I don't understand why anyone would kill her. The whole situation is tragic. My condolences to Pablo's family as well as Kasha's...both of you are suffering.

  10. This is truly sad. A friend of mine who knew Kasha told me about this today. I truly pray for the families of the Kasha and her husband. I lost my mother to suicide and this case brings back vivid memories. Truly sad, God bless the children...
